We are well known for our background in infection control at CorrMed, so when we received a call from the team at Blue Mirror in New Zealand, we knew we could help them in their roll out plans and support them in distributing this innovative training software across the UK.
Blue Mirror is an AI observational tool that automatically assesses and corrects errors in your team’s PPE application. It saves time, money and resources, improving infection control and minimises the spread of infections by reducing PPE errors.
The system can be used to train medical students and refresh the knowledge of clinicians.
The unique software transforms a tablet into a ‘mirror’ reflecting back and advising you on where your PPE application could be improved. As well as saving time, the software can also help with overall compliance and ensuring that infection control risk is reduced for both staff and patients alike.
Developed in New Zealand by clinicians, for clinicians, Blue Mirror is keen to showcase the capability of the software and how it can support hospitals across the world.
CorrMed is the UK advisor and distributor for Blue Mirror and is working with NHS Trusts across the UK. One of the first evaluation sites is Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust where we are working with Tracey Cooper and Emma Fulloway.
The team has been refining the system to meet Trust specific protocols and PPE used and will study the effectiveness of Blue Mirror as a training tool across the organisation. We are hopeful that the results can be shared at the Infection Prevention Society Conference in September 2021.
