Highlights from the IPC 2022 Conference & Blue Mirror Hosted Evening

Updated: May 5, 2022

Last week the CorrMed team, along with special guest the CEO of Blue Mirror, Rommie Nunes, attended the Infection Prevention and Control 2-Day Conference and Exhibition at Birmingham’s NEC.

Rommie (pictured far right above) is a tech entrepreneur and an AI specialist, who founded Blue Mirror after COVID highlighted global PPE concerns from healthcare professionals. With a desire to enhance and save lives through safer PPE training of correct donning and doffing, he worked with experienced clinicians and used his passion for AI and technology to build Blue Mirror: Your PPE instructor powered by AI.

CorrMed presented Blue Mirror at the IPC conference, demonstrating it’s highly scalable and automated PPE training capabilities.

Blue Mirror is an observational artificial intelligence tool that automatically assesses and corrects errors in your team’s PPE training. It offers affordable and scalable 1:1 PPE training – like no other!

The uniqueness of Blue Mirror sparked a lot of interest from Infection Prevention & Control professionals and the team were therefore kept very busy. Blue Mirror isn’t just a video like some conventional PPE training, visitors to the stand were quickly learning that Blue Mirror was watching and correcting them in real time!

After a busy first day, Katie, Fiona and Rommie hosted the first ever Blue Mirror user evening with the help of, Tracey Cooper, DIPC of Worcestershire Acute Hospital NHST, Claire Chadwick, DIPC of Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHSFT and Cecilia Tuudah HICD CNS of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHSFT, all current Blue Mirror users in the UK.

The evening was a great success with users of all three evaluation sites discussing their individual thoughts on Blue Mirror and how it has enhanced their PPE training, as well as the feedback they received from staff and the value of Blue Mirror’s reporting which aids them behind the scenes for board assurance.

Day two of the exhibition was extremely busy for the team; several Blue Mirror PPE training demonstrations took place, showing how the artificial intelligence of Blue Mirror was watching, analysing, and correcting PPE application in real time.

Exciting new connections were made, with follow up meetings booked for the coming months to show further demonstrations as to how Blue Mirror PPE training software can be integrated into a healthcare environment quickly and affordably.
