Red Bleed Control Kits Supporting Life-Saving Work in Cornish Schools

At CorrMed, we're proud to see our Red Medium Everyday Pouches supporting a critical community initiative in Cornwall, led by some inspiring organisations.

In response to the tragic death of Michael Riddiough-Allen in 2023, Michael’s Initiative for Knifecrime Education in Society (Mike’s Trust) has joined forces with Front Line Emergency Equipment Trust (FLEET), Duchy Defibrillators, and Bleed Control Cornwall to ensure public access to bleed control kits across the county.

Initially installed in 270 defibrillator cabinets throughout Cornwall, the next phase of this campaign is now underway: supplying kits to every school and college in Cornwall. The aim is clear—equip young people and educators with tools that could prove lifesaving in a catastrophic bleed scenario.

We’re proud that our Red Medium Everyday Pouches have been chosen as the base for these kits. Purchased by the Charities and then custom-filled and branded for the campaign, these pouches are helping make vital equipment accessible and recognisable in communities throughout the region.

The kits, containing tourniquets, dressings, gloves, and more, are designed to be used by members of the public, even those without formal first aid training. With QR codes linking to how-to videos, this initiative puts lifesaving knowledge and action into the hands of anyone who might need it.

Christian Brown, General Manager at FLEET, confirmed that thanks to fundraising from volunteers who ran the London Marathon, the kits for Cornish schools are fully funded and will be rolled out during the summer.

As Kevin Allen, father of Michael Riddiough-Allen, said at the latest installation:“[Michael] died trying to make a difference – so we also try to make a difference.”

We are honoured that our products can play a small part in that mission.
