Bespoke Nursing Bags Enhance Ease and Efficiency

CorrMed provided 135 bespoke nursing bags to Community Nurses and healthcare assistants in the Chester-le-Street area.

CorrMed, a provider of 100% IPC-compliant medical bags, collaborated with Chester-le-Street Primary Care Network (PCN) to supply 135 nursing bags to Community Nurses and healthcare assistants in the Chester-le-Street area. The initiative aimed to enhance the efficiency and safety of healthcare professionals to better facilitate their care of housebound patients within the community.

The nursing bags were thoughtfully designed with input from community nurses to meet their specific needs. The final product featured a kneeling cushion and treatment mat, home visit bag and various pouches, to offer a safe, organised, and easily transportable solution for medical equipment, streamlining the patient visit process.

Stephanie Hall, District Nurse Team Lead for Chester-Le-Street, expressed “The nurses love the bags as it means they can keep all the equipment they need together in one easy-to-transport bag. This means that when visiting a patient in their house, they can bring what they need in one go, rather than having to make trips back to their car. It’s also much better for infection prevention and control as the bags can be easily wiped down and cleaned.”

The collaboration between CorrMed, Chester-le-Street PCN, and the community nursing teams exemplifies a concerted effort to provide practical solutions that enhance patient care. We are delighted to hear such positive feedback and are pleased to have facilitated a more efficient, organised, and infection-controlled approach to healthcare delivery in the community
